Newport RI Ballard Park

Thanks to Roy Hilbinger for sharing his beautiful shots of birds found in Ballard Park with us! See if you can identify the birds in Roy's slideshow at right (answers may be found below).

Roy Hilbinger is a nature lover and photographer who can frequently be found in Ballard Park and down Hazard Road visiting Gooseneck Cove. He's been wandering the streets and paths and byways of Newport, camera aimed, for at least 20 of the 35 years he's lived here. In Ballard Park you're apt to see him crawling on hands and knees or flat on his belly, trying to get the perfect close-up of some bug or flower. And if he's upright, he's usually chasing a new bird.

You can see a more of Roy's photography, with stories and such to go with it, on his blog at http://roys-world.blogspot.com . At the moment he's also trying to go professional with his photography, and you can visit his photography page at http://www.roys-world.com/photography , which includes his photographic portfolio. If you're interested, his contact information is on the photography page.
