Molly Finn
about MOLLY:
In the Fall of 2005 Molly Finn began working with Friends of Ballard Park to develop a Youth Board with Rogers High School students. A recent high school graduate who grew up in Newport, Molly was well known and connected at the high school. The students decided the first event they wanted to organize would be a Battle of the Bands featuring youth bands of various musical genres. Molly was particularly enthused about the event and recruited several of her musician friends to enter their bands.

Sadly, in June 2006 the Free Spirit, a boat Molly was aboard as part of a transatlantic voyage, was lost at sea. Her young friends requested Friends of Ballard Park host Battle of the Bands in Molly’s memory and volunteered to help organize the event which is open to area musicians young and young at heart.
