Colleen McGrath

Ms. McGrath has served as executive director of Friends of Ballard Park since 2001. She served on the Newport City Council for two years. Prior to that she worked for nine years in New York City's publishing industry specializing in marketing and special events and for a short term in circulation. These skills along with deep community roots have helped her to successfully grow the organization.

Ms. Lade earned a BS in Biology and Conservation Science from Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio in 2010. Throughout college she interned as an environmental educator at several organizations including The Cincinnati Zoo and Sea World Orlando. Upon graduation Jessica completed a year of AmeriCorps service at The Ocean State Environmental Education Collaborative with Save the Bay- Narragansett Bay.

EVENT & MARKETING COORDINATOR
General Duties:
The event & marketing coordinator provides office and on-site management for a variety of marketing projects, membership drives and special events related to Friends of Ballard Park and assists the executive director with fundraising activities. S/He works in concert with the executive director to ensure that Ballard Park remains a wild and natural open space for future generations by developing high caliber cultural and educational programming that encourages the local public to visit and use Ballard Park.

SUMMER INTERNS
General Duties:
Provide general office and on-site assistance for a variety of marketing projects and special events related to Friends of Ballard Park including:

- office support including filing, preparing/sending mailings for members and board members, inputting data to databases and compiling statistics and reports.

event set up and breakdown, coordination of volunteer efforts under the direction of the director

-publicize the organization and events (posting flyers, sending press releases, word of mouth, etc.)

assist with planning, implementing, and coordination of special events
