Directions & Rules

From Boston and Northern New England:
Take Route 128 South to Route 24 South in Fall River and get on to Route 195 West for one exit and then back on to Route 24 South (Take Exit 8B). Stay on 24 South to Route 1 38 (Take the “Newport Beaches” exit).

Bear right off of the exit ramp and follow to a traffic light (you will see Clements’ Market at the intersection) and bear right on to Route 138 (East Main Road). Continue on Route 138 through the Town of Portsmouth and into the Town of Middletown (approximately 6 miles) to the intersection of Route 138 and Valley Road. This intersection is located at a set of traffic lights. You will see a Wendy’s Restaurant on the left and a small shopping plaza on the right. At the light, take a left on to Valley Road. Follow until the end of the road turning right onto Memorial Boulevard after stop light. Pass Easton’s Beach on your left and travel up the hill. Take a left onto Bellevue Avenue at the second stop light/major intersection. Follow Bellevue Avenue to Ruggles Avenue, passing one stop light at Narragansett Avenue. Take a right onto Ruggles Avenue. You will pass through two intersections (Coggeshall Avenue and Carroll Avenues) with stop signs and then Murphy Field on your right. Proceed up the hill, Ballard Park is on your left. Parking available in the Rogers High School parking lot on the left.


From New York and Points South:
From Route 95 North to Exit 3A (Route 138 East). Follow Route 138 East to the end and take a left on to Route 1. From Route 1 take the exit for the Jamestown and Pell Bridges (heading towards Newport). Cross both bridges and take the first exit off the Pell Bridge and head down toward Downtown Newport. At the bottom of the ramp take a right onto Farewell Street which has graveyards on either side. Turn right onto America’s Cup Avenue and follow all the way through to the last set of lights where you can turn right onto Thames Street or drive straight up Memorial Boulevard. Make sure to be in the right lane so you can turn right onto Thames Street.

FROM AMERICA’s CUP AVENUE:
Follow Thames Street all the way. It will turn into Carroll Avenue. At the fork in the road after St. Augustin’s Church on the right, bear right onto Old Fort Road. You will pass the back of Rogers High School on your right and the Fire Station on your left. At the end of the road take a right and proceed up the hill. Ballard Park is on the left. Parking available in the Rogers High School parking lot on the left.

PARK ENTRANCES
There are three entrances — one directly across from the Rogers High School parking lot, another at the corner of Hazard and Wickham Roads and a third on Hazard Road across from Ocean Heights Road.
