On the last Thursday of June 2006, Friends of Ballard Park held the 2nd Annual Ballard Park Unplugged. The foggy evening added a mystical aura to this unique musical event which featured six groups playing simultaneously along the trails of Ballard Park. Event goers follow the melodies for a musical treasure hunt.
Classical oboist Jane Murray greeted guests at the main entrance while bagpipers Michael O’Connor and Russell Hayes were heard well before people caught sight of them at the Hazard Road entrance. Honey’s Child Gospel Ministries were back in the quarry meadow for the second year as were Kevin & Gianna Sullivan singing and playing guitar and flute near the big red maple tree while LeRoy White was drumming near the ridge of the wooded quarry. Making an appearance for the first time was Bob Kendall who was accompanied by Dylan Roy and Dave Narcizo.
The 3rd Annual Ballard Park Unplugged is scheduled for Thursday, June 28, 2007.
